Tried this four times with 31 pics, but no joy - so trying without pics fingers crossed.
We had wonderful second day in New Orleans, we left the ship at about 10:00am and took a Street Car on the Riverside line running close to the river Mississippi. We rode to the end of the line to the French Market. After walking a few blocks we got to the famous Bourbon Street and walked the whole length taking in the Post Office, cafes, bars, restaurants, Mardi gras shops, review bars and the mix of French, British and Spanish cultures involved in the Heritage of New Orleans. We had a detour to Jackson Square. That's General not Micheal, although there is a stretch of the 3 mile Riverside Walk named Moonwalk. After listening to a choir singing Gospel tunes, watching some street artists and street jazz bands we had walked the length of Bourbon St. and got to Canal St. Here we took another Street Car to the end of the line to see the outer district of the City, where the big cemetery is, stayed on street car all the way back to town. Got back about 14:30 so we had a quick coffee at Starbucks in a very up market mall. Got two blog post off. At 15:15 we walked back into the Riverside Visitors Centre, browsing shops as slowly as we could, before being tempted by the Cafe du Mond dougnuts. Got back on board for 16:30 in time for the sail away party. Our departure was announced by the ships whistle and a steam organ on a Riverboat playing traditional tunes to say farewell. Really too short a time in New Orleans, think we might be coming back, one of the major highlights of the holiday.
