Saturday 4th Feb stopped on route to Santerem at small refueling port of Parintins Lat 2° 36' S Lon 56° 44W 200 miles east of Manaus. Here we saw another folk loric show by the locals. It was loud, colourful and spectacular both in terms of costumes and carnival monsters manipulated by people. Took some photos at main cross roads. No taxis except bikes like rickshaws powered by people. Tendered ashore to a floating pontoon chained to the river bed. Still very warm here, quite overcast, occasional 10 minute down pour of rain, locals just shelter and wait for it to pass. Been away 3 weeks now only 9 more, how brilliant is that?
