Day 2 - New Orleans pics part 1

Pics Only to go with Day 2 post Riverside Street Car to Bourbon St Post Office.

Day 2 New Orleans - sorry no pics

Tried this four times with 31 pics, but no joy - so trying without pics fingers crossed.

We had wonderful second day in New Orleans, we left the ship at about 10:00am and took a Street Car on the Riverside line running close to the river Mississippi. We rode to the end of the line to the French Market. After walking a few blocks we got to the famous Bourbon Street and walked the whole length taking in the Post Office, cafes, bars, restaurants, Mardi gras shops, review bars and the mix of French, British and Spanish cultures involved in the Heritage of New Orleans. We had a detour to Jackson Square. That's General not Micheal, although there is a stretch of the 3 mile Riverside Walk named Moonwalk. After listening to a choir singing Gospel tunes, watching some street artists and street jazz bands we had walked the length of Bourbon St. and got to Canal St. Here we took another Street Car to the end of the line to see the outer district of the City, where the big cemetery is, stayed on street car all the way back to town. Got back about 14:30 so we had a quick coffee at Starbucks in a very up market mall. Got two blog post off. At 15:15 we walked back into the Riverside Visitors Centre, browsing shops as slowly as we could, before being tempted by the Cafe du Mond dougnuts. Got back on board for 16:30 in time for the sail away party. Our departure was announced by the ships whistle and a steam organ on a Riverboat playing traditional tunes to say farewell. Really too short a time in New Orleans, think we might be coming back, one of the major highlights of the holiday.

Last leg - New Orleans to Southampton

Arrived in Key West at 0930 walking round being touristy until now, 12:00 just drinking coffee and rating key lime pie. Map shows ports of call: from New Orleans to Key West, Port Everglades, Nassau, Half Moon Cay, then six days at sea to the Azores at Ponta Delgado, from there another day at sea to Vigorous, Spain, one more day at sea and it's back to Southampton UK. The pictures give a feel for Key West. Take care everyone. Love Mo and Rob x.

Day 1 New Orleans

These pics were for Thursday 22nd March. Arrived New Orleans 12:00. Cleared US immigration at about 14:00, walked around the Riverwalk Centre close to the Mississippi Convention Centre. Went for a ride on a Riverboat with a Jazzband, 1700-1900. Then met with couple from our dinner table and went out for an authentic New Orleans restaurant "Court of the Two Sisters", brilliant one photo shows the flambayed bananas wow! Last photo shows bridge over the Mississippi where the ship had berthed after we got back from our meal and heard another Jazz band on board.

Cozumel and Anniversary

Hi Everyone, Second day in New Orleans, 14:30 here just been riding round city on Street Cars pictures to come. This set of pics for Cozumel, Mexico and a couple of our Anniversary meal. Cozumel was a day we stayed on board ship, high winds meant the ship had to anchor and use tenders which were slow to turn round. We had upgraded our cabin so were busy with a move too. We wanted an upgrade to co-incide with our anniversary which could not have worked out better. Last two pics in this post show us at the Sorrento restaurant on board and the tiger prawns Mo had for a starter. This is the first of 3 posts today.
